Yoga is for everybody and so everyone is welcome, from complete beginners to yoga teachers...we offer a range of options to suit all abilities.

We strongly believe that yoga is to be practiced in a non competitive & non judgemental way. It is about respecting the fact that every body is different and it's about YOU practicing YOUR yoga on YOUR own mat and enjoying the journey it takes YOU on.....

What Is Yoga?

Yoga is so much more than bending and making shapes on your mat. It translates to meaning 'unity' and is a way of life, a way of being that derives from an ancient  Hindu spiritual and ascetic discipline, which, includes breath control (Pranayama), meditation, and the adoption of specific bodily postures (asanas), which are widely practiced for their health and relaxation benefits.

By practicing yoga we can develop a deeper awareness of ourselves, it is a form of movement that connects the mind with the body and soul, it reconnects us to our inner selves and helps us to feel happier, destressed and calm. In a nutshell then, yoga teaches us how to relax and restore the strength and flexibility within our bodies whilst stilling the mind at the same time.

What Is Pilates?

On many retreats we offer yogalates , a fusion of yoga and Pilates, in the schedule. Pilates is a physical fitness system developed in the early 20th century by Joseph Pilates. who designed certain exercises that often incorporate the use of special equipment such as resistance bands and balls, created to improve physical strength, flexibility, posture, and enhance mental awareness'. Whist yoga helps us to become more flexible, supple and spiritually connected, In Pilates the focus is more on specific movements that develop core strength, good posture, central alignment and a healthy spine. It is a wonderful complement to Yoga which is why we love to combine the two together...

MORE ABOUT YOGA

On our retreats and in our weekly yoga classes, we encourage everyone, regardless of ability or experience to join in. Yoga is about connecting to yourself, in your mind, body and soul and It is a wonderful way to stay healthy as well as go on a journey of self discovery. By connecting to your breath (pranayama) we can become calmer, stronger and avoid injury as we move in a more authentic and natural way. This is why yoga practice should never be competitive or ego lead. Some days the postures (asanas) may come easily and other days you may find them a challenge. The point is that you turn up to your mat and get to know yourself for all that you are and we change on a daily basis and our practice will be a reflection of that.

The Chillout Team look forward to assisting you on your path to discovery through yoga and mindfulness....
