walking

When we walk, we release any tension that we are carrying around in our day to day lives. we can reach places that you can only see on foot and experience some of the most breathtaking places on earth.
On our walking retreats in the UK, we offer a minimum of two guided walks per weekend, abroad we offer two or three walks during the week...
The terrain is often hilly, coastal and rugged and certainly windy at times. They range from mildly to intermediately challenging. It is recommended that you wear suitable walking footwear and bring a ruck sac for the essentails such as water bottle, camera etc...

In Sussex
The Gayles retreat centre is situated over looking the breathtaking Cuckmere valley, east Sussex. It neighbours the stunning seven sisters coastline and the splendid inland peaks of Alfriston (think white horse in the hillside) it gives great pleasure to explore it and enjoy it's grandeur scenery, that has inspired the likes of Oscar Wilde, Virginia Woolfe and the Bloomsbury set no less. If you want to walk the south downs way, then this is a great place to start!

In portugal
The coastline is rugged and not dissimilar to that of the cornish coastline here in the UK. The sea is an azur blue and the walks take us over various caves and blow holes. The walks vary depending on whether you walk east or west as both offer breathtaking scenery and challenging terrain.
